Sonu Nigam was born on July 30, 1973. Sonu Nigam Parents are Agam Kumar and Shobha Nigam. He has two sisters, Meenal and Nikita. He did his schooling from J. D. Tytler School in Delhi and pursued his graduation from Delhi University. In 1990 he moved to Mumbai to fulfill his dream. Sonu Nigam married Madhurima Banerjee on February 15, 2002. The couple has a son, Neevan, born on July 27, 2007.
Sonu Nigam Father was used to be a stage singer. So Music is just in his blood. From his childhood, his training began. His father is his inspiration. He first learns the nuances of music from his father. Then he took training of classical music from Ustad Maha Kanjar Naveed in Delhi. Then he got the chance to learn more Classical music under legendary classical music maestro Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
In 1990 Sonu got his first break for playback singing in a movie Janam but unfortunately, the movie wasn’t released. He was upset when his songs were rejected. But impressed with his talent, Gulshan Kumar offered him a singing contract. So his song ‘Achha Sila Diya Tune’ from the movie ‘Bewafa Sanam’ became a huge hit. This is the song that brings him to the limelight.
His career took off in 1997 when he sang the song ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ from the film ‘Border’. This song considers as one of the Sonu Nigam Best Songs. He sang various musical genres and styles with songs like ‘YehDil’ in ‘Pardes’ (1999) at one end and the title track of the 2004 film ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ at the other.
